How To Save Money Every Week with Budget Meals in MealBox

There is a must-use feature in MealBox that lots of people overlook. We’ve mentioned it before, but we think it’s worth revisiting in these interesting times. Each and every week MealBox automatically generates a list of 25 recipes that contain the greatest number of ingredients that are either promoted in a weekly ad or associated with a coupon. These are recipes brimming with food on sale. If you want to figure out how to plan enticing meals AND save money, this list is for you. This week the Top 25 Budget Meals list contains a recipe for a hearty bacon cheeseburger - sounds tasty - with 6 of its 9 ingredients on sale. You will find a waldorf salad with cucumbers and carrots that on sale along with four other ingredients. And there’s a meaty cheesy lasagna that feeds 10 and has half of its 14 ingredients on sale. Good stuff.

Here’s how to use the Top 25 Budget Meals list in MealBox. To see what’s on sale in your local Meijer store, you must either pick a store or sign in to MealBox. Click on the Recipes tab. It will open up with Meal Type selected.

There you will see a red icon with scissors on it and the words “Top 25 Budget Meals”. Click that icon. You will be prompted to enter a zip code and select a store.

Once you have done this, the system will return your customized list showing you how many ingredients are on sale in each recipe.

If you select one of the recipes in the list, you will see that is full of ingredients in red; those with an “S” are on special this week at your store; those with a “C” have a coupon associated with them.

Click the red text to see details on that particular special or coupon. Enjoy.
